1972 Ford Torino

Automobiles

For 1972 the Torino was redesigned with a long hood short deck look and strong coke bottle styling, switching to body on frame construction from the unit construction of 1971. The model line was reduced from fourteen to nine models, front disc brakes were standard, and the wheel track increased by at least two inches. A total of 496,645 were produced, making it the best selling intermediate of 1972 and the first time Ford outsold the Chevelle since its 1964 introduction.
