For 1970 the Torino became the primary model and the Fairlane a subseries, in a completely new body with coke bottle styling, longer, lower and wider than the 1969 cars, on a 117 inch wheelbase. It had thirteen models at first, a new four door pillarless hardtop, and all new interiors and engines. The Falcon continued for half of 1970, and in 1971 the Fairlane and Falcon names were dropped. Its model years run from 1970 to 1971.
