Beginning with the 2010 model year, the sixth generation Taurus was a complete redesign of body and interior, on the same chassis as the Five Hundred and previous Taurus but swapping New Edge styling for Ford's Kinetic Design. It was the first Taurus built without a Mercury Sable counterpart, and it took the place of the Grand Marquis as Ford's full size sedan. The Taurus SHO, with a 365 horsepower 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 and all wheel drive, cost 37,995 dollars.
