A new SE model was added for the 1995 model year, as a budget version of the SHO, a step above the entry level GL. The third generation Taurus entered production in June 1995, with sales starting late in the year, so that the redesigned car for 1996 was available at the very end of this model year. The Taurus SHO sold in Japan through the Autorama dealers was exported with left hand drive until 1995.
