For the 1990 model year the Taurus received a redesigned dashboard. It was similar in design to the one it replaced, with a different placement for the radio, and was still planned so that all the main controls could be found by touch. The SHO continued as the flagship of the Taurus range, since stronger than expected sales had led Ford to allow production to continue beyond its limited first year.
