The fifth generation Taurus was the Ford Five Hundred with a mid cycle revision and the Taurus name restored, which made the Taurus a full size car for the first time. It moved to the Volvo derived D3 architecture and offered all wheel drive, a six speed automatic and an overhead cam V6 as standard. The Mercury Sable returned alongside it, and the Freestyle crossover became the Taurus X, after the new CEO Alan Mulally called the earlier decision to drop the name a mistake. Each model year has its own page.
