The RS200 of 1985 had a plastic fibreglass composite body designed by Ghia, with a mid mounted engine and four wheel drive, and was made by Reliant, a British firm known for its fibreglass bodies. Ford contracted Reliant to build the two hundred road cars at their Shenstone facility. The RS200 was a road going car built so that Ford could enter a competition car in Group B rallying.
