The name of the Rheinland came from the German region of the Rhineland, in the same way that the small Köln took its name from the city of Cologne. In 1934 it was a big four cylinder car built by Ford Germany, which was the German designation of the Model B. The Rheinland was the big four cylinder Ford of Germany, a German market version of the Model B. Ford Germany made it beside the smaller Köln at its Cologne factory in the mid 1930s.
