The 2011 model year was the final model year for regular retail sales of the Ranger in North America, as the Twin Cities Assembly Plant, built in 1925 and the oldest Ford factory in the world, was set to close. Ford had extended the closure date to 2011 and in June 2011 announced a final closure date. In Argentina Ford produced the Ranger at General Pacheco from 1998 to 2011. Twin Cities Assembly was the sole production location of the Ranger in North America from 1982, so its closure brought the Ranger to an end after 29 model years.
