In 1992 the L trim with a 1.8 diesel, and the Ghia Si trim with a 1.8 16 valve petrol, were added to the range for 1992 and 1993, and suspension changes in late 1992 improved the Orion's dynamic qualities. The Orion just missed out on a place in the top 10 best selling cars in Britain in 1991 and 1992, and it was a four door saloon version of the Escort. The Orion was a four door saloon based on the Ford Escort, built by Ford of Europe.
