The sixth generation was replaced by the seventh in 2023, and the 2023 model year was the last for the S550, including its Mach 1, which ran from 2021 to 2023. The seventh generation Mustang began production at Flat Rock on 1 May 2023, so for a short time the old and new generations were built at the same plant. The Mach 1 still had its 470 horsepower Coyote V8 and a Getrag manual. The new car carried the S650 designation.
