The Mustang Mach-E went on sale in December 2020 as a 2021 model, and won the 2021 North American SUV of the Year award. In the United States it came in Select, California Route 1 Edition, Premium and GT trims, with a limited production First Edition at launch, and two battery pack sizes, a 75.7 and a 98.8 kilowatt hour pack. Car and Driver gave it its first EV of the Year award and the Insurance Institute named the top trim a Top Safety Pick.
