Ford Brasil built 2,422 Landaus in 1977, which were offered in silver, white and black, and at first in a single exclusive colour of Continental Silver with a silver vinyl roof. The car had a 302 cubic inch V8 of 198 horsepower, a lighter 5.0 litre engine. Ford Brasil produced it at its São Paulo area plant for twelve years. The Landau was Ford's top model in Brazil and the only large American style sedan the company built there.
