The Kuga went on sale in the first half of 2008, after being presented in September 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and was built at Ford's plant in Saarlouis, Germany. In the United Kingdom, to underline the car's premium aspirations, only the high end Zetec and Titanium specifications were offered. The combined fuel consumption was 44.1 miles per imperial gallon and CO2 emissions 169 grams per kilometer, from an engine range of a 2.5 liter turbo petrol and 2.0 liter diesels.
