2005 Ford Ikon

The fifth generation Fiesta was launched in India in October 2005 as a sedan only, with a different exterior from the European car but a similar interior. The first generation Ikon stayed on sale beside it for a few more years as a cheaper alternative, built at Chennai. Ford sold the same basic design under the Fiesta and Ikon names depending on the country. The Ikon was a small Ford sedan built on the Fiesta platform for markets where buyers wanted a sedan, such as India and South Africa.
