The last model year of the Ford GT, 2022, brought several Heritage Editions and an LM Edition painted Liquid Silver with red or blue accents, as a tribute to the GT that won Le Mans in 2016. Production was scheduled to end that year at the Multimatic plant in Canada. The Ford GT was a mid engine two seat sports car, styled in the spirit of the GT40 racing car of the 1960s. Ford sold it in small numbers to collectors, and it was built by specialist firms under contract rather than at Ford's own assembly plants.
