2009 Ford Focus

In 2009 the new Focus RS was launched, using a modified version of the 2.5 liter engine of the ST. That same year Ford showed an all electric Focus BEV based on the second generation car at the Frankfurt Motor Show, a precursor of the Focus Electric to come. The North American car of this period was still the restyled coupe and sedan rather than a global Focus. The ST of this generation had been released in 2005 with a Volvo five cylinder engine.
