For the 2001 model year the North American Focus gained an optional electronic stability control system sold as AdvanceTrac, along with standard fog lamps on the ZTS series and new six spoke 16 inch alloy wheels. In Europe a facelift came in late 2001, known as the Mk1.5, with revised headlamps that had integrated indicators and separate main and dipped bulbs. A five door hatchback was also added to the American range.
