In 2017 the Flex was in its ninth model year, produced as a single generation at Oakville Assembly in Ontario beside the Edge, the Lincoln MKX and the Lincoln MKT. It remained a full size crossover on the D4 chassis architecture, with six or seven passenger seating, and it competed with other three row crossovers such as the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse. The 2013 facelift look continued unchanged.
