In 2019 Latin NCAP rated the Indian made Figo in its basic Latin American configuration at four stars for adults and four for toddlers, one level above its ratings of 2010 to 2015. The car was sold in Mexico, imported from India, where it was known as the Ikon Hatch earlier. Ford India built it at its plants near Chennai and in Gujarat before the company closed them in 2021. The Figo was a small Ford hatchback made in India for emerging markets and based on the fifth generation Fiesta.
