The Figo was released in South Africa in January 2013 after the 2012 facelift, with a 1.4 litre petrol engine of 62 kilowatts in Ambiente and Trend models. The three hundred thousandth Figo was made in the first week of August 2013, forty one months after the start of production. Ford India built it at its plants near Chennai and in Gujarat before the company closed them in 2021. The Figo was a small Ford hatchback made in India for emerging markets and based on the fifth generation Fiesta.
