The older fifth generation Fiesta, built in Europe only until 2008, continued to be built in Brazil until 2014, so the final year of that car's long run overlapped with the sixth generation in the Americas. The sixth generation remained the standard Fiesta in most other markets, as a three or five door hatchback, a sedan in Asia and North America, and a three door van in Europe. Production of the sixth generation would carry on in Brazil beyond the rest of the world.
