Ford's Cologne plant in Germany began building the sixth generation Fiesta in August 2008, under the One Ford strategy of building a single model for the world instead of regional variants. A four door sedan debuted that November at the Guangzhou show. The car was a three or five door hatchback, a sedan and a three door van, and was based on the Verve concepts shown in 2007. The older hatchback continued to be built in Mexico until 2010.
