1986 Ford Fiesta

Automobiles

In 1986 the 1.3 liter CVH engine was replaced by a 1.4 liter lean burn version of the same unit, and the other engines were modified to run on unleaded petrol. In February all models received the 40 liter fuel tank that had been exclusive to the XR2, giving 17 percent more range. In November the XR2 engine itself was replaced by a lean burn version with a revised cylinder head and carburettor, which cut emissions with a small drop in power.
