1981 Ford Fiesta

Automobiles

The XR2 arrived in 1981, a year after the Supersport test, with a 1.6 liter version of the Kent Crossflow engine. In late 1981 minor revisions followed across the range, including larger bumpers to meet crash safety rules, to keep the car attractive before the second generation. In the British market the Fiesta was by 1981 the third best selling car, after ranking ninth in its first year on sale. The entry models still used the Valencia 957 and 1,117 cc engines.
