For the 2006 model year a flex fuel version of the three valve 5.4 liter Triton V8 became available, except on models with the Heavy Duty Payload Package, the Flareside box or the Harley-Davidson trim, and the SuperCrew was made available with the 6.5 foot box. The front bumper was refreshed with circular fog lamps and a smaller bumper vent. The Heavy Duty Payload Package had a reinforced frame and a 10.25 inch rear axle.
