In China the 2016 Everest was manufactured by the JMC Ford joint venture at the Jiangling Motors Nanchang factory, while the Thai built car served other markets. The second generation was based on the global T6 Ranger, which Ford Australia had developed. The Everest was a seven seat SUV built on the Ranger pickup and sold mainly in the Asia Pacific region. In India the Everest was called the Endeavour, and the SUV had no Mazda counterpart.
