1974 Ford Escort (Europe)

Automobiles

In June 1974, six years after its British launch, Ford announced that the two millionth Escort had been built, a milestone no other Ford outside the United States had reached, and about sixty percent of them had come from British plants. In West Germany, where Escorts were built more slowly, output slumped to 78,604 in 1974, the last year of the Mark I. Production of the next generation began on 2 December 1974.
