The third generation Edge, called the Edge L in China, was revealed on 23 February 2023 as a replacement for the China exclusive Edge Plus, built by Changan Ford, with three rows of seats and gasoline and hybrid powertrains. It is 22.1 centimeters longer than the previous generation Edge. In North America the 2023 Edge was still the second generation car, with the 2.0 liter EcoBoost, built in Oakville, and was to end in 2024 without a successor.
