Ford announced that a shortened 2010 model year would be the last sold in Mexico for the first generation EcoSport, because of decreasing sales and heightened competition from the Ford Escape. The EcoSport was still one of Ford's best seller models in Brazil, appearing among the twenty best selling vehicles, and was built in Brazil by Ford Brazil at the Camacari plant. The EcoSport was a subcompact crossover SUV from Ford Brazil, built at the Camacari plant and based on the Ford B3 platform shared with the Fiesta.
