The 1962 Country Squire was the fifth generation station wagon counterpart of the Galaxie, on a 119 inch wheelbase with a perimeter frame, 11 inch drum brakes shared with the F Series, and a double wishbone front suspension with ball jointed A arms. In contrast to the fourth generation Country Squire, the fifth generation largely abandoned yearly body updates, with a more conservative body design integrating the headlights into the grille.
