The Capri EV was unveiled on 10 July 2024, after speculation in early 2023 that Ford might revive the name as an electric sports crossover and a camouflaged pre production car seen in Cologne in November 2023. It is built on the Volkswagen MEB platform in Cologne, Germany. The Capri EV is a coupe shaped electric small SUV that Ford builds in Cologne on a Volkswagen platform for European buyers. It borrows panels from the Explorer EV and revives a name used on a Ford coupe from 1969.
