For 1982 the Bronco saw a slight facelift as it adopted Ford's blue oval emblem in place of the FORD lettering on the hood, and the bronco horse was removed from the fender emblems. The 351 Windsor made its debut in the Bronco, replacing the 351M. Also in 1982, the Bronco II made its debut, a compact SUV based on a shortened Ranger pickup, sized like the 1966 to 1977 Bronco and unrelated to the full size model.
