Production of the Anglia was suspended in early 1942, after the diversion of Ford's factory to military production during the Second World War. The E04A had been on sale in Britain since early 1940, powered by the 933 cc side valve engine, with synchromesh between second and top gears but not between first and second. The car retained a vacuum powered wiper that tended to slow or stop above about 40 miles per hour. The Anglia was a small two door family car made by Ford of Britain.
