Peugeot BB1

Automobiles

The Peugeot BB1 is a fully electric concept city car that Peugeot introduced at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is a very small machine, only 2.5 metres long and 1.6 metres wide, yet it carries four seats. Its drive system places an electric motor inside each of the two rear wheels, an in-wheel arrangement developed together with Michelin, and each motor gives a maximum of 7.5 kW and 320 newton metres of torque at the wheel. The BB1 was a showcase for urban electric mobility rather than a production model, and it belongs with the other compact experimental cars through which Peugeot explored how a city vehicle could be packaged around its drive units instead of around a conventional engine bay.
