The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX is a battery electric concept car from the German carmaker, unveiled in January 2022 at the Consumer Electronics Show as a proof of concept for very high efficiency. Its goal was to use less than 10 kWh per 100 km in real driving, which with a 100 kWh battery meant a range of about 1,000 km. Weight and aerodynamics drove the design: a teardrop body with a Kammback tail gives a drag coefficient of 0.17, the lowest of any battery electric vehicle, and a single rear-axle motor of 150 kW works with a 900-volt architecture and a battery developed with Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains. In 2022 it drove 1,008 km from Sindelfingen to Cassis and 1,202 km from Stuttgart to Silverstone on one charge. The EQXX remains a one-off, and features from it reached the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA.
