The Dodge ZEO, short for Zero Emissions Operation, was a concept car built by Dodge to show that electric powertrain technology could potentially be faster than gasoline-powered muscle cars. It was shown on 14 January 2008 at the 2008 North American International Auto Show as a four-passenger sport wagon with a single 268 horsepower electric motor and a lithium-ion battery driving the rear wheels. Dodge quoted 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds and a range of 250 miles between charges, and the car had conventional scissor doors in the front and rear-hinged scissor doors in the back. A series plug-in hybrid version was expected to have a 40 mile electric-only range. Because of the automotive industry crisis and the Chrysler Chapter 11 reorganization, the ZEO never saw production.
