A motorized passenger's side seat belt was added to United States market Spirits in 1994 to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 requirement for passive restraints. These motorized belts do not comply with Canada's safety standards, so Canadian market Spirits continued to use a manual passenger seatbelt. The last Spirit was produced on December 9, 1994, as Dodge replaced the model line with the Dodge Stratus.
