An anti lock four wheel disc brake system was added as a new option in 1991. The sportier, higher performing R/T version of the Spirit was offered in 1991 and 1992, and the Spirit ES and R/T featured Eurocast alloy wheels through 1991, also called Snowflake wheels, with a bright red body and bright red painted wheel inserts available on the 1991 R/T only. The 1991 Spirit was a midsize sedan. The Spirit was built at Newark Assembly and Toluca.
