For 1991 the Monaco replaced chrome trim on all models with black or body color trim, and to streamline production air conditioning and automatic climate control became standard equipment. Anti lock brakes were added to the four wheel disc brake system that year. The car continued to share its body with the Eagle Premier apart from small trim differences, and remained a five passenger sedan with front bucket seats and a console shifter, unlike the six passenger Dynasty.
