The 2016 model year was the last for the Dart. The SE trim level was discontinued in mid-2016, and so was the Limited. In the final months of production the SXT was known as the SXT Sport and became the base trim level of the Dart. The Aero version of the Dart was focused on fuel economy, and a version managing about 40 miles per US gallon combined made it possible for Fiat to acquire an additional 5 percent share of Chrysler Group.
