The 2011 Charger, the LD, took on both exterior and interior changes, including a new fascia and hood, racetrack style taillights modeled on the 1968 to 1970 cars, and a new dashboard. The police version was renamed the Charger Pursuit. It was the start of the seventh generation of the nameplate. The Charger Pursuit, the police variant, competed with the Ford Police Interceptor and the Chevrolet 9C1, and the 2011 LD took styling cues from the 1968 to 1970 cars.
