Plymouth used the Scamp name for two different small cars. The first, built from 1971 to 1976, was a rear-wheel-drive two-door hardtop coupe based on the Plymouth Valiant; it began as a badge-engineered version of the Dodge Dart Swinger, using the Dart Swinger hardtop body shell with Valiant front sheet metal and dual taillamps carried over from the 1970 Dodge Dart. The second was a front-wheel-drive coupe utility sold only for the 1983 model year, a rebadged Dodge Rampage related to the Plymouth Horizon and built on Chrysler's L platform. Plymouth sold 2,184 base Scamps and 1,380 Scamp GTs in that single year, while the Rampage it shared a body with continued through 1984.
