The Packard Four Hundred was a senior Packard hardtop sold for the 1955 and 1956 model years, built in Packard's Detroit plant while the company was part of the Studebaker-Packard Corporation. The name revived the Patrician 400 of 1951 and 1952, and the car was a two-door hardtop identified by a color band along its lower body and a gold script Four Hundred on the band. In 1956 it shared its body and chassis with the Caribbean hardtop and received the enlarged 374 cubic inch V8 and an optional electronic push-button control for the Ultramatic transmission, which proved troublesome. Packard built 7,206 in 1955 and 3,224 in 1956, and the model ended with Detroit production.
