Nissan 180SX

Automobiles

The Nissan 180SX is a fastback automobile that Nissan Motors produced between 1988 and 1998, based on the S13 chassis of the Nissan S platform, with RS13 and RPS13 as the chassis designations. It was sold exclusively in Japan and was rebadged as the 200SX outside Japan and as the 240SX in the United States. Nissan built it as a sister model to the S13 Silvia, at a different Japanese dealership: the Silvia sold at Nissan Prince Store and the 180SX at Nissan Bluebird Store, where it replaced the Gazelle. It differed from the Silvia in its pop-up headlights and a liftgate with different rear bodywork. The name referred to the 1.8 litre CA18DET turbo engine, and from 1991 it carried a 2.0 litre SR20DET turbo or SR20DE naturally aspirated engine without changing name. Production of all 180SX models ceased in December 1998.
