Lancia Beta Coupé

The Lancia Beta Coupé was a two door notchback coupe sold by Lancia from 1974 to 1984. It belonged to the Beta family, the first range Lancia developed after the Fiat takeover, and it shared its mechanical layout with the four door Beta Berlina, but it rode on a shortened floorpan and had its own body and interior, drawn by Pietro Castagnero as a freelance consultant. It was shown at the Frankfurt motor show in 1973 and went on sale about half a year later, taking over from the two door Fulvia. Power came from reworked versions of the Fiat twin cam four cylinder engine in sizes from 1.3 to 2.0 litres, with a supercharged Volumex version from the 1982 model year. It was built in two series, the second with two facelifts, and it was known for rusting badly. The Beta Spider and the Beta HPE were derived from it.
