The Ford Evos is a coupe-style plug-in hybrid grand tourer concept car that Ford Europe unveiled to the public at the September 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Its exterior, referred to as Kinetic 2.0, was designed by Stefan Lamm under the leadership of Ford of Europe's executive design director Martin Smith, with Eugen Enns, as a further development of Kinetic Design. It has four gull-wing doors hinged in opposite directions and no B-pillar, like the earlier Ford Iosis study, and was not intended for production, although Ford said the design strategy it showed would appear on production cars within months. The plug-in hybrid electric powertrain pairs a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack developed by Ford, taken over from the Ford C-Max Energi that entered production in 2013. The petrol engine only runs when the 75 km/h electric speed limit is exceeded or the stored electricity runs out, and the total range exceeds 800 kilometres.
