Audi TT

Automobiles

The Audi TT is a sports car that Audi manufactured and marketed from 1998 to 2023 across three generations, offered as a 2+2 coupe and as a two-seat roadster. Each generation sat on a Volkswagen Group A platform shared with the Audi A3, with a transverse front engine driving the front wheels or all four, and the first two generations were assembled by Audi's Hungarian subsidiary. Styling began in 1994 at the Volkswagen Group Design Center in California, the car was first shown as a concept at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show, and the design is credited to J Mays and Freeman Thomas. The name comes from the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race, where NSU and DKW, predecessors of Audi, had enjoyed success. In total 662,762 were built, the last in November 2023.
