The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé is a two-door, four-seat luxury convertible and grand tourer made by Rolls-Royce, first shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on 7 January 2007. It is based on the 2003 Phantom, and its styling draws heavily on the 100EX concept built for the company's 2004 centenary. The exterior has rearward-opening coach doors, a two-tone colour scheme and a teak-panelled tonneau cover, and the bodywork is stainless steel rather than the aluminium of the concept because it is easier to maintain. Triangular A-pillars and spring-loaded pop-up rollover hoops behind the rear seats strengthen the open body. In its first year on sale, 2007, 253 were sold worldwide. A Series 2 followed at the 2012 Geneva show, and production ended in 2016 with a final Last of Last edition in 2017. Several appeared in the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics, and Pininfarina built the Hyperion roadster on this car.
