The Honda OSM, short for Open Study Model, was a lightweight roadster concept revealed at the 2008 London Motor Show and designed at Honda's research and development facility in Offenbach, Germany. It was meant to show that Honda could build a low-emissions car that was also sporty and fun to drive. Enthusiasts speculated that it previewed a replacement for the ageing S2000 or a convertible CR-Z, but Honda said it had no plan to release it as a production model. Its dashboard concept was inspired by the European eighth-generation Civic hatchback and became a design choice for later Honda sedans such as the second-generation Insight and the ninth-generation Civic.
